The Lovelock Fire Department has 30 firefighter positions.  All firefighters also work in an EMS role. The Lovelock Fire Department handles an average of 120 calls for service for the Lovelock Area. The Lovelock Fire Department covers an area of about 6068 Square Miles. A large volume of calls are from Interstate 80, which are motor vehicle accidents and general medical calls.

The Lovelock Fire Department handles about an average of 20 structure fires and about 40 to 50 brush and Wild land fires.
