Pershing County Recorder-Auditor - Vacancy in Elective Office
In anticipation of a vacancy in the elected position of Pershing County Recorder-Auditor, the Pershing County Commission is accepting applications for that position. The applicant for the position must meet the criteria set forth in NRS 247.010 and 251.010 which among possible others, does require that applicant be a “qualified elector” and have a high school diploma.
Other qualifications include knowledge of principles and practices of management and supervision; principles of budget preparation and administration; methods and equipment used in computerized data processing, laws and regulations which pertain to governmental accounting, public finance in the State of Nevada, budgeting, personnel management, payroll and benefits principals, current methods, practices and techniques of accounting, financial record keeping and municipal budgeting. The County Recorder-Auditor is responsible for the custody of all documents deposited in his/her office including documents affecting real property.
If a candidate is chosen to fill the vacancy, upon agreement to such terms and conditions as are reasonable and necessary, the chosen candidate may agree to participate in a training period prior to being appointed, during which the successful candidate will receive training in regard to the duties of the position and the operation of the office. The chosen candidate will be appointed to serve until December 31, 2024. The position is an elected position and will be subject to an election in 2024.
